Custom Bent Sheet Metal Parts Made from Your Drawings
Anstorm manufactures custom bent sheet metal parts for equipment, electrical enclosures and industrial assemblies. The parts shown on this page demonstrate several common fabrication features, including punched holes, formed flanges, channels, brackets and box-shaped components. Each project is produced from a buyer-approved drawing rather than a fixed standard size.
This page is intended for purchasing teams, engineers and equipment builders sourcing fabricated parts that must fit an existing product or assembly. We can review 2D drawings, 3D models or marked-up samples before quotation. For projects focused mainly on flat profiles, see our CNC laser-cut sheet metal parts.
Part Types and Fabrication Features
Typical requests include mounting brackets, support channels, covers, guards, reinforcement pieces, mounting plates and formed housing components. Depending on the design, production may combine cutting or punching, press-brake bending, local forming, welding, grinding, deburring and hardware installation. Welding is applied only where the approved design requires joined sections; a simple bent component does not automatically require a welded construction.
Materials and Surface Requirements
Material selection should follow the mechanical, corrosion and appearance requirements of the final assembly. Common project discussions can include carbon steel, galvanized sheet, stainless steel or aluminum, but availability, thickness, bending behaviour and finish must be confirmed for each order. Tell us whether visible surfaces, cut edges or welded areas require a particular treatment. We do not assume a coating, material grade or corrosion rating when it is not shown on the drawing.
Drawing Review Before Production
A useful manufacturing file identifies the material and thickness, finished dimensions, bend direction and angle, hole and slot locations, internal radii, weld symbols, hardware, surface finish and inspection points. Tolerances should be assigned according to the part’s real function instead of applying an unnecessarily tight value everywhere. Our review can flag missing dimensions, conflicting features or areas that may be difficult to form consistently before production begins.
Quality Checks for Fabricated Parts
Inspection follows the approved drawing and quotation. Relevant checks can include overall size, bend direction and angle, hole position, flange dimensions, weld location, edge condition, hardware placement and visible surface quality. Packaging should also protect finished parts and formed edges during handling. Learn more about Anstorm’s quality inspection process.
Supply Scope and Related Services
The normal supply scope is the fabricated sheet metal part described in the quotation. Electrical components, wiring, final equipment assembly, certification and installation are not included unless they are explicitly listed. Buyers needing several fabrication processes can review our laser cutting and welding parts range.
Information Needed for a Quotation
Send the drawing or model, required quantity, material and thickness, critical tolerances, bend details, welding requirements, finish, hardware and inspection documentation. If a physical sample is the only reference, provide clear photographs and the dimensions that must be controlled. Contact Anstorm with your fabrication files for a manufacturability review and quotation for custom bent and welded sheet metal parts.
