Sheet Metal Laser Cutting and Bending Service
Anstorm provides a sheet metal laser cutting and bending service for custom brackets, panels, covers and formed components made to approved drawings. The example shown combines a cut outside profile, an elongated slot, round mounting holes, multiple bends and a white finished surface. It represents a fabricated component rather than a fixed catalogue product.
This page explains the manufacturing service from file review through formed-part inspection. Buyers who need flat profiles without bending can review our custom CNC laser-cut sheet metal parts. Projects centred on joined assemblies can instead review our custom bent and welded sheet metal parts.
From Cutting File to Formed Component
A typical route begins with drawing review and material confirmation. The flat pattern is cut with its outside contour, holes, slots and internal openings, then deburred and formed to the specified angles. The order of operations depends on the geometry, bend access, surface requirements and any later assembly steps. Production follows the released drawing and quotation rather than assumptions taken from a sample photograph.
Materials and Thickness Review
Projects may specify carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized sheet or aluminum according to the component’s function and operating environment. Material grade, thickness, grain direction where relevant, protective film and finish must be identified before quotation. Bend behaviour, inside radius and visible surface condition vary by material and thickness, so these details should be confirmed during drawing review.
Features Requiring DFM Review
Cutouts close to bend lines, narrow bridges, small holes, short flanges, relief geometry and multiple bends can affect manufacturability. The drawing should identify finished dimensions, bend direction, angle, inside radius, critical tolerances and functional datums. When a flat pattern is supplied, it should be linked to the finished formed-part drawing so that the intended geometry can be checked before release.
Secondary Operations and Quoted Scope
The quoted scope may include deburring, countersinking, tapping, hardware installation, welding or surface finishing when these operations are listed. The white coating visible in the product image is an example of a finished appearance, not a default coating specification. Coating type, colour, texture, masking points and corrosion requirements must be stated for each project. Tooling, fixtures and purchased components are included only when quoted.
Inspection and Documentation
Inspection follows the approved drawing and agreed acceptance criteria. Relevant checks can include material and thickness, outside dimensions, hole and slot locations, bend angles, flange dimensions, interface geometry, visible surface condition and part count. Exact tolerances, inspection records or first-article documentation are provided only when specified and accepted in the order. Learn more about Anstorm’s quality inspection process.
Request a Sheet Metal Fabrication Quote
Send a 2D drawing and, when available, a 3D model with quantity, material grade, thickness, bend details, critical tolerances, finish and required secondary operations. Identify mating parts and functional interfaces so that the review can focus on the dimensions that matter to assembly. Contact Anstorm with your files and project requirements for a manufacturing review and quotation.
