When Galvanized Steel Fits the Project

Galvanized sheet can provide a protective zinc-coated substrate and may be selected for corrosion-conscious fabrication. Suitability still depends on coating specification, cut edges, welding, finish treatment and exposure conditions. State whether the galvanized surface remains visible or receives paint or powder coating.

Define Installation Conditions First

Describe whether the enclosure will be indoors, sheltered, exposed or installed inside another machine. Include moisture, condensation, chemicals and cleaning conditions. Material choice is only one part of protection; doors, gaskets, seams, ventilation and cable entries must also match the application.

Internal Layout and Access

Provide the overall dimensions and a component layout showing mounting plates, rails, brackets, cable paths and service clearances. Door swing, lock position and maintenance access should be checked against the installation area. Required openings must be dimensioned from fixed datums.
