Custom Metal PCB Enclosure
Anstorm manufactures custom metal PCB enclosures for printed circuit board assemblies used in industrial, commercial and electronic equipment. The housing is developed from the board outline, component height, connector positions and installation method so that mechanical interfaces align with the electronics.
Start with the PCB and Component Envelope
Provide the board dimensions, fixing-hole coordinates and maximum component height on both sides. Mark keep-out zones and parts that require airflow or external access. Standoff height, cover clearance and assembly sequence should be considered before the enclosure dimensions are fixed.
Connector and User-Interface Openings
Identify connectors, switches, displays, LEDs, antennas and cable glands on a dimensioned drawing. Cutout positions should reference board datums and account for connector tolerances. If the electronics design is changing, include a revision number and clearly mark which interface locations are final.
Thermal, Grounding and EMC Requirements
Metal can support grounding and shielding strategies, but electromagnetic performance is not automatic. Define grounding points, conductive contact areas, coating exclusions and any EMC test requirement. Provide heat-loss information when ventilation, fans, heat sinks or conductive cooling paths are required. Sealing and airflow requirements must be balanced.
