Define Your Requirements First
Before contacting a manufacturer, record your enclosure dimensions, material grade, surface finishing, quantity, and delivery target.
What to Look For
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and welding
- Ability to manufacture to your drawings and tolerances
- Clear communication on materials, finishing, and lead time
Questions to Ask
Ask about material options, surface treatment, quality inspection, packaging, and shipping terms. Confirm whether they supply only the enclosure body or also internal components.
About Anstorm
Anstorm manufactures custom metal electrical enclosure shells and cabinet bodies. We do not supply internal electrical components.

Review Drawing and Revision Control
A supplier should work from controlled drawings, models and BOM revisions. Ask how design questions, approved substitutions and production changes are recorded. Revision discipline is more useful than a generic claim of customization.
Confirm Material and Finish Capability
Specify grade, thickness, surface finish and cosmetic zones. Review how stainless sheet is stored, cut, welded and protected from contamination. Material records and finish samples should be agreed when the project requires them.
Assess Fabrication and Assembly
Check capability for cutting, bending, welding, grinding, hardware installation and door alignment. The relevant process depends on the cabinet design; a long equipment list alone does not prove that the supplier can hold the required interfaces.
Define Inspection Evidence
Agree critical dimensions, sampling, surface acceptance, door and lock checks, and any project-specific tests. Request example reports when traceable records are required.
Compare Quotations on the Same Scope
Confirm whether mounting plates, gaskets, locks, packaging, testing and documentation are included. Ratings and certifications should be supported for the stated configuration rather than treated as general factory attributes.
Review the quality inspection workflow and stainless cabinet capabilities. Send the same controlled RFQ to the contact page for comparison.
Also review packaging, communication lead time and change-control response. A capable supplier should identify missing inputs before production and explain how deviations will be approved.
