Why 304 Stainless Steel
304 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel commonly used for industrial enclosure shells and cabinet bodies. It offers a practical balance of corrosion resistance, cleanability, and mechanical strength.
Key Benefits
Corrosion Resistance
304 stainless steel resists many corrosive environments, including humidity, mild chemicals, and washdown conditions. It is a common choice for food, pharmaceutical, and coastal applications.
Cleanability
The smooth, non-porous surface is easy to clean and supports hygiene-sensitive environments.
Strength and Durability
Sheet metal 304 stainless steel enclosures form rigid cabinet bodies that protect equipment in demanding conditions.
Typical Applications
- Food and beverage processing
- Pharmaceutical and medical equipment
- Marine and coastal installations
- Outdoor electrical and control cabinets
Customization
We manufacture 304 stainless steel enclosures and cabinet bodies to your drawings and specifications, including size, mounting, cutouts, and surface finishing. We do not supply internal electrical components.

General Industrial Applications
304 stainless enclosures are often considered for factories, equipment rooms and process areas where cleanability and general corrosion resistance are needed.
Food and Clean Environments
Smooth, accessible surfaces can support cleaning, but hygienic suitability depends on geometry, finish, joints and the complete equipment design. A material name alone does not establish compliance.
Indoor and Sheltered Installations
Humidity and occasional washdown may favor stainless steel, while chloride exposure or aggressive chemicals require closer grade review.
Fabrication and Finish
Specify thickness, brushing direction, weld appearance, protected surfaces and any post-fabrication treatment. Hardware compatibility and drainage remain important.
Application Limits and Ratings
304 does not automatically provide IP, NEMA or corrosion-test results. Define the finished configuration and required evidence.
RFQ Information
Provide environment, dimensions, loads, openings, finish and quantity. Compare stainless grade selection and a stainless cabinet configuration, then use the contact page.
Procurement should verify that the quoted grade, finish, hardware and documentation match the intended application. Similar-looking stainless enclosures can have different fabrication and sealing details. Confirm these details before approving a repeat order.
